Respected, boutique law firm specializing in the representation of first responders/safety officers' workers' compensation claims seeks an Associate Attorney. While we are a high-volume practice with extensive clientele, we strive to bring a personal, client focused approach to each of our clients and their families. The right addition to our team will be a hard-working, dedicated individual who can work well with our staff, their fellow attorneys and with the many safety officers we represent.We pride ourselves on maintaining a professional, well-run office while simultaneously promoting close-knit relationships between our attorneys. Responsibilities:
- Review client files to provide detailed file work ups for the handling attorney and the legal assistant
- Review medical reports to assess next steps, rate injuries and prepare for settlement
- Attend hearings, trials and depositions
- Contact clients to discuss case status and/or outcome of hearings or trials
- Work within a team to help move cases to a conclusion
Qualifications:
- Juris doctorate from an American Bar Association accredited university
- Admission to the California State Bar
- Interest in representing injured police and firefighters
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Comfortable working in a face paced environment
- Professional demeanor
- Ability to “self-start” and solve problems
- We will train the right individual, including newly admitted attorneys
