Our team provides programmatic and technical service desk support to the deployment of AETC Wide Area Knowledge & Education Nexus (AWAKEN) (formerly Learning Wi-Fi Service [LWS], supporting the commands efforts to coordinate and satisfy customer’s Base Information Transport Infrastructure (BITI), GuestNet and Long-Term Evolution (LTE) wireless requirements

The Wireless Engineer is responsible for network design, engineering, and review of the Wireless Network in support of AETC's WPOS. Working as part of an integrated government support team that is focused on the continued success of AETC’s standardized and accredited wireless solutions to the Command’s commercial wireless mission. Work with AETC customers to identify and document wireless requirements
- Conduct engineering reviews of Wireless Network designs for technical feasibility
- Conduct or coordinate acceptance testing of deployed commercial wireless service/solution and make recommendation to the government for acceptance or rejection of the installed solution
- Engineer and design Wireless Network changes in response to customer requirements.
- Make recommendations to the government for best way to fulfill customer requirements based on established mission/use cases for the Commercial Wi-Fi, BITI Wireless, and GuestNet networks
- Assist the customer in coordinating government wireless solution requirements with the appropriate government program office
- Coordinate site preparation and installation activities to support implementation of required wireless services and solutions
- Creating wireless status reports and metrics for trend analysis
- Assist with incident management and problem management
- Review project deliverables and perform quality control of approved wireless project installations
Certifications:
- Level II Information Assurance Systems Architect and Engineer (IASAE)
- CompTIA Security+CE
- ITILv4 Foundations (Preferred)
Clearance:
- Department of Defense, Secret
Experience:
- Proficient with Microsoft Products: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.
