What to Expect:
Firefighting is a very physically demanding job - as such we expect our firefighters to be physically fit and mentally prepared for the arduous fire environment. You can expect to live in primitive conditions without access to showers, perhaps eating military rations for days, steep terrain in extreme heat or later in the season, cold and of course long days (14-16 hrs). You can also expect to get paid to travel around the country, see and camp in beautiful country, make friends that last a lifetime, build career and life skills, and most importantly help protect communities that are threatened by wildfire.
