What we are looking for:
ODF is looking for someone to administer and supervise the fire Dispatch Center for the Grants Pass Unit. This position develops and establishes dispatch plans and procedures for the Unit in cooperation with neighboring Dispatch Centers. Implements and oversees adherence to Agency procedures and policies regarding forest fire dispatch protocols statewide and nationally. Coordinates suppression efforts with cooperators, partners, and landowners. Helps coordinate the smoke management program, and assist with fire prevention activities for the Unit.
Minimum Qualifications:
Five (5) years of Wildland Fire suppression or emergency dispatching which includes one (1) year of leading/supervising the work of others;
OR
Bachelor's degree in forestry or closely related natural resources field and two (2) year of Wildland Fire suppression or emergency dispatching which includes one (1) year of leading/supervising the work of others.
Note: Driver's License Check - This position requires the operation of a state vehicle for the purpose of conducting official State business. If your license is from outside Oregon, you must submit at least a three-year court/DMV printout. If you have an Oregon driver's license, a record check will be conducted on top candidate to ensure a valid license and acceptable driving record.

- Specific computer skills relating to use of databases, spreadsheets, and word processing applications.

- Ability to multi task with outside agencies to include, phone, resources, assets, people skills, ability to decipher requests in a timely manner.
- Experience leading a team of 5-6 employees in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
