Under the supervision of the Nutrition Services Manager, the Training Coordinator will oversee and facilitate both new employee and ongoing Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) training for Mountain Park Health Center (MPHC) including certifying that staff has met competencies prior to providing services without supervision. Ensures training for WIC employees, so they may provide quality service that is participant-centered, efficient, effective, follows the state and federal guidelines, rules and regulations and is integrated with the other departments of MPHC.
Essential Functions:
- Implements the MPHC staff training portion of the Nutrition Services plan in coordination with the management team.
- Coordinates new employee training plan components.
- Completes all documentation and agreement declaration.
- Mentoring or assigning mentors for new employees through completion of new employee training plan.
- Ensuring new employee observations and chart reviews are completed according to state policy.
- Ensuring staff have met competencies prior to providing services without supervision.
- Provides technical assistance and consultation to MPHC staff and other health professionals on staff training topics.
- Plans, develops and/or facilitates staff training through various methods including but not limited to state e-learning courses, blended learning approach and in-service training to ensure staff have skills in providing participant-centered nutrition education.
- Completes training courses and ensures staff meet training requirements.
- Ensures documentation of training is all complete and documented.
- Conduct observations and chart reviews for staff and provide one-on-one mentoring to staff that will include feedback and guidance.
- Attends state required training and/or designated state meetings for Training Coordinator.
- Conducts outreach as assigned.
- Provides participant-centered services within scope as needed.
- Ability to work on site and from home.
- Travel to multiple locations during shift.
- This position requires consistent, in-person attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field
- Experience in, or related field
- Knowledge in Adult Learning Theory
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
