JOB SUMMARY
The Wellness Assistant Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of day-to-day operations of Project Vida’s community wellness center services and supports the Mind, Body and Soul Health and Wellness Circle grant program for same gender loving black men. In addition, the Wellness Assistant Coordinator position supports the Wellness Coordinator in the development, management and execution of center memberships and reservations for all physical wellness programming, including but not limited to: massage therapy, acupuncture therapy, cupping therapy, hydro-colon therapy, fitness packages, dance lessons, and grant participant data management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administrative and Direct Client Services
- Assist with the implementation of physical wellness programming specifically crafted for the PV community, and same gender loving black men at sites across the Greater Chicago area (internal and external) for the Mind, Body and Soul collaboration.
- Assist with developing and maintaining an internal and collaborating agency strategy for providing holistic care services.
- Assist with quality assurance and reporting for all physical wellness services and/or programs (including fitness sessions/classes, holistic therapies, dance lessons, art classes, special events, etc.)
- Attend related internal and external meetings, trainings, conferences, etc.
- Possess current nationally accredited and widely accepted fitness certification approved by Wellness Coordinator, while continuingly seeking further training in professional skill set and stay current with certifications
- Performs wellness programing as required by grant funded programs therein
- Conducts wellness assessments, intake, registration for program participants and wellness center clients, and ensures all intake documents have been properly completed in a timely fashion. This includes the clients holistic wellness plans (i.e.goals) for clients to achieve greater success for incorporating wellness changes.
- New Projects and Events Coordination
- Increase the involvement and engagement of the Mind, Body and Soul Health and Wellness Circle and CAB in PV’s community events and grant initiatives that impact the SGLBM community
- Participate in occasional outreach activities and major organization events
- Assist the Wellness Coordinator in the annual bike/walk/run and voguing dance competition as well as monthly fitness/dance/cooking events.
- Data Management
- Submit required reports to supervisor and assist the Wellness Coordinator submit data to funding sources within the scheduled time frame
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of all required program documentation and outcome measures
- Ensure that services are conducted in conjunction with funding source standards and requirements
- Documents client activities and coaching sessions using SOAP notes
- Conduct HIV/STI testing/counseling on an as needed basis.
- Responsible for assisting and supervising sanitation protocol throughout the wellness center (including fitness equipment, restrooms, showers, holistic services supplies and equipment, off-site equipment, and more), in addition to any related duties as assigned by Wellness Coordinator, Clinical Care Services Manager and/or Core Leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned
PRIORITY QUALIFICATIONS
- Background in Health Promotion, spa reception, health club management, boutique medical
- Expertise in cultural sensitivity to African American, Latino, and LGBT+ populations required
- Knowledge of HIV care and supportive services
- Maintain CPR/AED certification
- Health coaching certification from nationally approved agency required, or must register within
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Certified HIV/AIDS Tester within first 6 months of employment Willing to work some evenings and weekends, is A MUST.
- Excellent presentation, communication and conflict resolution skills Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license is REQUIRED
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
