WELDER/FABRICATOR

JOB DUTIES:
- Responsible for the fabrication and assembly of structural steel metal to construct custom steel doors and windows.
- Interprets blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Utilizes handheld welding equipment to join and construct metal pieces and products.
- Sets up components for welding, utilizing hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures.
- Works from specifications, drawings to perform tasks.
- Prepares materials by welding, cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal.
- Completes assigned work according to specified documentation, including prints and job paperwork.
- Reads and comprehends job paperwork and prints effectively.
- Sets up, operates, and maintains tools within the work area.
- Notifies the Production Supervisor when additional welding supplies are required.
- Maintains a clean work area for safety and efficiency.
- Safely operates forklift and other shop equipment.
QUALIFICATION:
- Proficient in reading and comprehending blueprints for structural steel fabrications.
- Competent in utilizing and reading basic hand tools such as grinders, drills, and tape measures.
- Capable of handling materials using forklifts when necessary.
- Effective communication with factory supervision and adherence to company policies.
- Proficient in making, welding, cutting, and drilling structural steel in the fabrication area.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Required to stand (75%), walk (20%), and stoop, kneel, or crouch (5%) as needed.
- Mandatory use of safety glasses and foot protection throughout the shift.
- Use of hearing protectors (ear plugs) in an environment with moderate noise levels.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $29.00 per hour
