What makes a good Welder?  A Welder should have MIG welding experience, familiar with Carbon Steel and able to pass a Weld test and Physical. A Welder should be able to cut and join metals with precision from technical drawings and verbal instruction, and able to work with welding tools and equipment and operate power and hand tools. TIG welding, a background in Carpentry, previous experience in Machine operating, Brake Press, Saws, and familiar with Stainless Steel and Aluminum are all very helpful in this Welding role, but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Use MIG welding experience and familiarity with Carbon Steel to cut and join metals with precision from technical drawings and verbal instruction.
• Work individually and as a team

Skills:

• TIG welding a plus, but not required.
• Robotic Welding experience a plus (and higher pay range potential-DOE) but not required.
• A background in Carpentry is helpful, but not required
• Previous experience in Machine operating, Brake Press, Saws is helpful, but not required
• Familiar with Stainless Steel and Aluminum helpful, but not required.

Qualifications:

• Welding experience.
• Must have knowledgeable of MIG welding processes
• Familiar with Carbon Steel
• Passing Weld test is required
• Passing Physical is required
• Able to cut and join metals with precision from technical drawings and verbal instruction.
• Able to work individually with limited supervision.
• Knowledge of working with welding tools and equipment.
• Skilled in operating power and hand tools.
• Able to understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature.
• Able to read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Able to lift in excess of fifty pounds.
• Knowledge of safety standards and willing to use provided protective PPE (Eye Protection, face-shield, gloves, Helmet, Ear protection-optional, etc.).
