Require a student pursuing a Welding degree to provide support as a maintenance repair welder. The student will be working mainly on draglines, shovel, and the coal handling facility. Duties may expand to include rolling stock fleet (dozers, trucks and etc.).
This program is designed for students currently pursuing an associate or technical degree, who have completed a portion of their curriculum, and will be completing their program after the coop/intern experience. It is not designed for graduates.

Duties/Tasks:
Welding metallurgy, post heat, preheat, industrial safety, plasma arc cutting, oxy-fuel cutting, identify electrodes and filter metals, set welding machines, fabricate, identify metals, read welding symbols, read blueprints and other duties as assigned. Will work rotating shifts.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The successful applicant should have a working knowledge of all phases of welding, cutting, air arcing, grinding, and an understanding of metal properties. Applicants need to have a valid driver's license, be able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions and will work rotating shifts.
Educational Requirements:
Enrolled in accredited welding or mechanical maintenance program and in good academic standing.
