Apprentice Shop Welder

Production Welder

Candidates will be welding in either the structural department, tank department, or miscellaneous shop. Each department has a slightly different skillset that is unique to the finished product. Communication amongst other departments will be important to ensure product is being produced efficiently and accurately.

Description:

Welders Will Be Responsible For:

• Setting up weld machines and adjusting the temperature based on the product
• Tacking together and welding on structural steel or pressurized tanks
• Reading and interpreting company blueprints to layout pieces
• Must be able to lay out pieces based on blueprints
• Operating overhead crane as needed
• Performing basic weld inspections before moving forward with the next step of the process
• Cleaning up welds as needed with a grinder
• Welds can be up to 1" thick steel
• Assist with pressure testing tanks with water and air up to 120 PSI

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience or schooling involving blueprint reading or layout experience
• Able to set up and adjust own welding machine
