***TrueNorth Steel is a proud second chance employer, proving opportunities for those who have shown they are ready to move forward and create a brighter future for themselves.
Most of the welding done at TrueNorth Steel is gas metal arc welding (GMAW/MIG) --- (Metal Core .045” and Flux Core 1/16”).
As a Welder at TrueNorth Steel, you will be assigned to a team that specializes in one of the product lines at your site. You will have a mentor and in-house trainer assigned to you for your first 90 days. They will work with you in training and certifying you in the processes and procedures that we use here at TrueNorth Steel. You will have a Team Lead, who will supervise your work and will give you direction throughout your workday. You will receive initial and ongoing safety training by an in-house full-time Safety Coordinator.
What makes the welding unique at TrueNorth Steel is the variety (not working on the same product/project day after day), the challenge (learning new skills and working with your team to come up with unique solutions), and opportunity for growth (the opportunities to progress and to explore in this company are vast).
Most sites operate consistently, year-round at around 45-50 hours per week.
