1ST AND 2ND SHIFTS AVAILABLE
1st Shift Hours 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
2nd Shift Hours 4:00 PM - 1:30 AM (included $2.00 Shift Differential Pay)
JOB SUMMARY
The Welder performs welding tasks repairing and maintaining containers. Work is performed on- and off-site in a safe manner. The Welder will also assist maintenance personnel when required.
CORE RESPONSIBILITITES
- Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment when and where required.
- Assist with weld repairs and asset fabrication on and off site.
- Assist with designing, fabricating and repairing metal.
- Document repair and fabrication projects and track time in accordance with department procedures.
- Request parts and supplies for assigned jobs.
- Assist with field and shop maintenance weld repairs and fabrication.
- Comply with company safety policies.
- Attend monthly, mandatory safety meetings.
- Report immediately any safety violations and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
- Properly maintain equipment, including service trucks and trailers, safety equipment, and tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Must pass a pulmonary function test if required by work assignment
- Welding aptitude
- Must be able to obtain any welding certificates needed to perform certain tasks or projects;
- Familiarity with shop equipment i.e. drill press, cranes, grinders and saws;
- Must demonstrate an understanding of metal welding theory and practices.
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- One year of maintenance welding experience including the use of arch, Mig, and stick welders, plasma cutter and acetylene equipment
- Aluminum welding experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Forklift experience
REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
- Valid Class C driver’s license
- Safe driving for the past three years
