The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for the management of all aspects and functions of Catering in accordance with hotel standards. Coordinates arrangements and details client’s functions while maximizing revenues in all areas of the hotel. Develops and implements Catering Sales strategies. Directs, implements and maintains a management philosophy which serves as a guide to hotel staff. This position will consistently strive to maximize revenue and promote relationships through effective negotiation of services and prices in the Hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Will target and win over business via outside sales calls, hosting site inspections, planner meetings, cold calling, emailing, networking, attending industry association events, etc.
Salary Rage $67,000- $75,000 annual

- Maintain complete knowledge of:
- Daily scheduled group functions, times, locations, amount of people and specified requirements
- Location of all hotel function space and names of meeting rooms
- All styles of meeting and banquet room settings.
- Correct maintenance and use of equipment
- All departmental / hotel policies and procedures
- All safety guidelines
- Plan, upsell and detail program with the client including space requirements, times, equipment, menus, billing instructions, walk throughs, etc.
- Complete BEO’s, Conference Resumes, letters, etc., to properly communicate details of the program to client and hotel.
- Ensure all information is detailed, correct and all billing arrangements are specified
- Establish a rapport with the client / planner when in house/ on property
- Customize selling approach to client / meeting planner’s needs to maximize sales
- Specialize food and beverage programs by tailoring to fit clients' needs
- Ability to anticipate client and their guests’ needs well in advance
- Act as a liaison between client and hotel operations and between supplier/vendors and clients
- Successfully mediate client issues.
- Return phone calls the same day preferably within two hours
- Review sales costs from previous day; resolve discrepancies with accounting. Track actuals against budget
- Enforce hotel’s standards, policies and procedures with department staff
- Attend or conduct all designated staff and management meetings
- Monitor facility activities and make recommendations to improve customer service and/or operational efficiencies.
- Perform Special projects or assignments assigned by Hotel Management
