The Wedding & Event Specialist works extensively with the Sales Manager and assists in the direct solicitation and booking of social groups including but not limited to; weddings, family reunions, sports teams, holiday parties and other catering events.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat business to maximize lodging and catering revenue.
• Solicit and conduct site visits for prospective clients.
• Timely follow up of all leads generated via the Crystal Mountain Wedding Request Form and any other leads that are received.
• Maintain market databases in Delphi and Springer-Miller.
• Maintain accurate, comprehensive records and files to provide group history.
• Will work in tandem with Sales Manager and Catering Services Manager to ensure client information transfer is seamless to guest.
• Assist Sales Manager in planning and executing sales initiatives for related market.
• Notify and coordinate customer specifications with other departments and quickly, efficiently respond to customer needs.
• Attends appropriate resort meetings and training sessions.
• Notifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significance.
• Other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
Competencies:
• Thorough knowledge of standard sales contract procedures.
• Required software knowledge to include, but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Delphi & SMS Host helpful but not required.
• Effective business writing skills (grammar, vocabulary, clarity and brevity).
• Ability to operate basic office equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Clear and concise verbal communication skills.
• Self-directed and able to maximize use of time, resources and technology.
• Ability to investigate and analyze current activities or information in the sales/ marketing field and make logical conclusions and recommendations.
• Must possess communication skills in terms of the ability to negotiate, convince, sell, and influence customers and make decisions based on established policies and procedures
• Maintains office, employee and company confidentiality at all times.
• Dependable and meets goals.

Education:
• A four-year college degree or equivalent industry experience required.
• Previous outside sales experience preferred.

• The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
• The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Evenings, weekends and holidays are a regular part of the schedule.
• Must have excellent attendance and conduct record for consideration.
• Must have unrestricted and insurable driving record.
