Job description

Summary

The User Experience Team is seeking a Web Producer to design and build web pages on the King County website through our content management system, Sitecore. The Web Producer will create experiences on the website that satisfy business stakeholders as well as the end user. They must be an effective communicator, detail-oriented, and able to balance innovation, user experience, content clarity, and technical consistency.

Teleworking Requirement
The work associated with this position will be performed through teleworking and on-site as needed. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.

Work Schedule
The normal workweek for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but may require after hours work as needed. Alternative work schedules may be considered. This position is not eligible for overtime pay.

Job Duties

  • Create, edit, optimize, publish, and test web pages in Sitecore as requested, within existing design and content guidelines.
  • Work with the UX team to create and enhance features on our websites to improve visitor satisfaction.
  • Adhere to web standards and accessibility guidelines and employ tools for building an engaging user experience.
  • Communicate with stakeholders on project requirements, activities, and statuses.
  • Monitor and respond to support requests from staff related to KingCounty.gov.
  • Help manage Sitecore user permissions and workflow, web tool user accounts, permission levels, and rights management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

  • 3+ years professional experience writing for the web and working within a CMS for a large enterprise web site.
  • Experience writing and revising content for the consumer-facing websites
  • Experience working in Content Management Systems, Sitecore experience preferred
  • Experience with localization and writing for a global audience
  • Proficient in basic web languages such as HTML and CSS
  • Experience with the UX lexicon and working in the UX design process
Soft skills required:
  • Strong communication skills at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work in a team environment and can manage multiple projects with varying deadlines simultaneously
  • Team-player with a positive and proactive approach.
  • Able to advocate for users while also finding compromises and work-arounds where needed.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience using Sitecore CMS
