Web Developer

JUXTA Creative has an immediate opening for a Web Developer! The Web Developer position fulfills all aspects of the marketing functions through advanced contemporary web and technical skills. This individual is responsible for development, coding and modifying websites, from layout to function, according to client specifications under the direction of the Senior Designer and Chief Creative Officer. The Web Developer must create and maintain responsive, brand-appropriate websites that are user-friendly, intuitive and easily navigated.

A knowledge of software programs; web applications; programming languages, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP as well as proficiency with WordPress configuration, page builders and theming is required. Must possess the ability to analyze site analytics with the proficiency to apply the findings to an action plan for improved client presence. Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, a plus. Solid background in social media management across all platforms also a plus.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Work closely with the marketing creative team and clients to develop detailed project specifications with clear objectives and timelines. Provide the team with web and technical expertise to serve clients and support projects. Ensure timely completion of recommendations.
• Write programming code, either from scratch or by adapting existing software packages, to build and refresh websites (PHP, SQL, etc.). Support clients by building data-driven websites, providing web maintenance, and monitoring. This may require refreshing, rebuilding and/or building websites from various states of completion.
• Regularly provide web analysis reports for each client. Monitor traffic patterns, SEO, site function, ADA compliance, etc. Test sites, identify technical problems, and work to correct them. Propose and act upon changes to positively impact client web presence and traffic quickly and efficiently.
• Monitor emerging technologies in the industry to ensure clients can take advantage of the most current tools. Alert colleagues of the most innovative Web-based tools and verse the team in modern applications.
• Oversee the full cycle of the web development project including application architecture, design input, site layout/user interface and database design/programming.

Required Skills

• Minimum of three (3) years of web development experience using extensible web authoring tools. Skill set in web design, coding, development, and programming.
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field, or a technical or trade school certification and significant equivalent experience.
• Experience with HTML5, CSS, PHP, SQL, Java Script, and WordPress and advanced text editors such as Atom or VSCode.
• Analytical thinker, highly organized, attention to detail, able to manage multiple priorities.
• Self -starter with strong time management skills. Proactive, works with a sense of urgency.
• Must be a team player and willing to work in multiple roles. Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ecommerce, Vue.js, Node.js, NPM and/or Adobe XD is a plus.
• Experience in design and production using Adobe CS InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
