The Web Content Producer brings technical expertise and editorial judgment to the task of creating compelling web and email content published by the Office of Communications. The position requires technical savvy, writing skills, and exceptional attention to detail.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp
Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Strong web production skills and demonstrated experience with content management systems
- Expert at Google products such as Google Docs, Slides
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
- Ability and willingness to quickly learn new tools and technology
- Photo editing ability
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Drupal and MailChimp
- Experience with Canva
- Experience producing content for a news website
- Familiarity with web accessibility standards
- Familiarity with AP style guidelines
- Familiarity with best practices in SEO

Description
Web and Email Production
- Publish articles, photo galleries, and other content to the Dartmouth News site
- Publish content to the Dartmouth homepage, home site, and other sites maintained by the Office of Communications
- Produce and send e-newsletters managed by the Office of Communications
- Proofread and fact-check copy and maintain accuracy and consistent editorial standards
- Optimize images for use on the web and in e-newsletters
- Create infographics and photo illustrations
- Track stories through production workflow
- Experiment with and suggest digital storytelling formats, approaches, and tools
- Contribute to discussions of how to cover and present stories

- Stay up to date on trends in digital storytelling and email design
- Follow web accessibility guidelines
- Play a role in updates to and redesigns of channels managed by the Office of Communications
- Serve as an expert in web and email platforms managed by the Office of Communications
- Train colleagues on web and email platforms

Support for Office of Communications Workflows
- As needed, contribute to other digital production processes, including digital asset management
- Contribute to a collaborative approach to the office’s workflows
- Be available to work occasional nights and weekends
- Participate in night and weekend on-call web rotation for emergency communication
