POSITION SUMMARY:
We are in search of a Entry Level Project Engineer charged with the main task of aiding in the management of a project from concept to completion. The Project Engineer is responsible for the MEP design of Water Features, understanding customer expectations and meeting specifications, checking plans for precision and accuracy, aiding with the research and development of new products, and working directly with drafters to produce drawing sets. The Project Engineer often helps develop and maintain relationships with new and established customers as well as troubleshoots issues over the phone and in person.
RESPONSIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS:
- Reading and understanding technical drawings, process flow diagrams, MEP Schematics and/or P&IDs.
- Technical review of Water Feature concepts, sketches, and drawings over phone and/or in person with landscape architects, designers and owners
- Design the mechanical, electrical and plumbing plans for Water Features, including but not limited to traditional fountains and interactive Water Features.
- Learn and understand the application of the Roman Fountains product catalog.
- Technical writing skills
- Check MEP plans before the are submitted for accuracy, precision, and functionality.
- Occasional travel may be required for job-site visits or attending trade shows
- Help coordinate the delivery of equipment to job sites for installation
- Must be prompt and efficient in handling customer inquiries, replying to phone calls & emails in a timely fashion.
- Drafting drawing details and shop drawings
- Keep informed on new products, industry news, competitor activities, and other general information of interest to Roman Fountains and its customers
- Works well internally with administrative, manufacturing, and engineering departments, positive attitude
- Keep records and make reports on all phases of his/her activities
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience. Preference for Chemical, Environmental, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics, having the ability to complete friction loss calculations.
- AutoCAD experience a must, preference for Revit or other 3D CAD.
- Ability to read architectural / engineering drawings
- Detail oriented with strong organization skills and excellent attention to detail
- Adaptability, being able to work independently, and being self-motivated
- Ability to read and understand product specifications.
- Basic knowledge of, or ability to learn how to read, pump curves and pressure loss curves
- Knowledge of physics, chemistry, and advanced mathematics
- Basic knowledge of control logic
- Experience with metering/dosing pumps and water quality a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $54,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
