THE OPPORTUNITY
KFA is seeking Civil Engineers with 2+ years of experience in drainage modeling and design to join our KFA Family to work from either our Austin or San Antonio Office.
The primary responsibilities for this position include:
Performing drainage analysis and design, hydrologic and hydraulic studies, detailing and plan set production.
Working under the supervision of a Professional Engineer and work with other technical staff to produce quality designs and plans and interpreting plans from other engineering related disciplines (survey, utility, etc.).
Performing specific or broad assignment tasks, assisting with planning, budgeting, and schedule tracking.
Potential work may include assistance with stormwater master planning, urban drainage design, roadway and rail H&H design, FEMA floodplain studies and technical reviews.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
2+ years of experience in engineering drainage hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, design and plan production
EIT Certification or ability to obtain an EIT certification within six months of hire
Ability to work independently at times and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in MicroStation and GEOPAK
Experience with HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS
Familiarity with 2d modeling such as HEC-RAS 2D, ICM or SWMM
Experience in ArcGIS
TxDOT or municipal design experience
