THE OPPORTUNITY

 

KFA is seeking Civil Engineers with 2+ years of experience in drainage modeling and design to join our KFA Family to work from either our Austin or San Antonio Office.

 

The primary responsibilities for this position include:

 

  • Performing drainage analysis and design, hydrologic and hydraulic studies, detailing and plan set production.

  • Working under the supervision of a Professional Engineer and work with other technical staff to produce quality designs and plans and interpreting plans from other engineering related disciplines (survey, utility, etc.).

  • Performing specific or broad assignment tasks, assisting with planning, budgeting, and schedule tracking.

  • Potential work may include assistance with stormwater master planning, urban drainage design, roadway and rail H&H design, FEMA floodplain studies and technical reviews.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering

  • 2+ years of experience in engineering drainage hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, design and plan production

  • EIT Certification or ability to obtain an EIT certification within six months of hire

  • Ability to work independently at times and as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience in MicroStation and GEOPAK

  • Experience with HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS

  • Familiarity with 2d modeling such as HEC-RAS 2D, ICM or SWMM

  • Experience in ArcGIS

  • TxDOT or municipal design experience
