Position Title: Warehouse Tech / Forklift
Department: New Jersey Warehouse
Supervisor: Richard Butt
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt hourly
Employment Status: Regular Full-time
Position Summary:
Stage, load, and unload finished product and raw materials. Stock and maintain warehouse inventory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform the regular functions of Shipping, Receiving, storage and Rotation of Perishable Produce in a Warehouse environment.
- Interact with and support the Sales staff in selection of appropriate quality product for various customer order fulfillment.
- Responsible for efficiently and accurately staging daily orders for same/day or next/day delivery to customers.
- Operate Forklift and power jack for loading and unloading of product going on trucks and containers.
- Responsible for picking date-coded product accurately, using FIFO standards as well as confirming quality of perishable product.
- Responsible for unloading and accurate Receiving of Perishable or other goods from Company supply trucks and/or outside vendors.
- Monitor deliveries and pickups to insure quality and quantity of products.
- Package finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling).
- Stage finished product for loading.
- Load finished product onto truck.
- Unload raw materials from truck.
- Move raw materials to warehouse storage.
- Responsible for quality control - damaged products
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
- Clean and maintain work area.
- Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
- 1-2 years of related experience working in similar industry. Additional education may be substituted for years of work experience.
- Ability to effectively communicate issues of quality to Manager and Salespersons.
- Understanding of warehouse operations, and general Inventory practices, ie. Stock Rotation, Lot Number recording on orders.
- Trained and certified to operate Company equipment including forklift and electric pallet jack
- Ability and maturity to interact diplomatically with other employees and company vendors and visitors.
- Able to work in temperature-controlled warehouse.
- Detail oriented team-player, and self-starter. Must be able to work independently and efficiently to prepare customer orders accurately and in timely fashion.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. while always wearing personal safety gear and following proper lifting techniques.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) must be able to speak, read and write English.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills: Must be able to accurately count.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
- Ability to stay a team player and meet deadlines.

Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The temperature in the controlled air/refrigerated units may be set to cold temperatures.
