What the job is:
- Perform daily forklift inspection; capable of operating industrial powered equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks
- Receive, distribute, and store products as directed in designated, secure locations.
- Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy (damage and counts); review accompanying documents (Transfer Orders) for accuracy.
- Confirm shipping details (where it's going) or special instructions; expedite shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
- Transport and load finished goods from production to warehouse; wrap orders and place on trucks for delivery
- Collect and properly dispose of scrap, cardboard, and strapping
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Receive and unload freight both manually or with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
- Assist with the timely fulfillment and delivery of products based on production schedule; replenishment of raw materials (pallets, finished good boxes, etc)
- Schedule truck for deliveries
- Able to communicate to multiple departments for overage/shortage of work order items, and for quality checks prior to delivery of order.
- Receiving Transfer Orders in Fish Bowl ERP
- Moving materials into correct staging locations in Fish Bowl
- Verifying returns in Fish Bowl
- Create Return Transfer Order in Fish Bowl
- Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP) and warehouse safety standards.
- Ability to work and contribute to a team approach with a positive attitude and outlook
- All other duties and responsibilities as needed
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Strong computer skills; knowledge of ERP or WMS systems a plus.
- Prior warehouse experience preferred.
- Prior experience using pallet jack or forklift preferred. Ability to obtain certification upon hire is required.
- Ability to perform basic math for conversion of units of measure.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to read and analyze information.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Adept at handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent time management.
- Knowledge of inventory control.
- Process improvement mindset.
- Speaking: Constantly (investigates, collaborating with multiple department’s, status updates, keeping key partners informed of daily progress of material request)
- Mobility: Frequent travel throughout the Oats Overnight Facilities (walking in warehouse and production areas)
- Bending/Squatting: Constantly (picking up product, moving product)
- Lifting: Frequent- Lift 50 lbs. or less (full cases of product)
- Able to be certified on manual and powered pallet jacks or forklifts
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment where temperatures vary with the seasons
