We are looking for a candidate to fill a warehouse associate position in our Dayton, OH warehouse for our Safety Practice. The Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for maintaining the warehouse supplies and equipment needed for LJB safety installation team.
WAREHOUSE SHIPPING & RECEIVING ASSOCIATE MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
- Assembles, packs, and prepares outgoing shipments as requested by the installation team.
- Receives and unloads trucks and deliveries to sort and restock.
- Inspects incoming/returning equipment and supplies to make sure they are in good condition and confirm their ability to be used on a job site.
- Maintains an inventory system and creates an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately.
- Able to identify tools based on written or verbal description for packing and restocking.
- Collaborates and communicates with team members regarding shipment timelines and deadlines.
- Has the ability to operate common hand tools to prepare and complete tasks in the warehouse. Ex. Cut railing or wood posts with a band saw, paint fabricated railings, etc.
- Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
- Ability to operate the forklift, hand truck or other equipment to unload, transport and store equipment.
- Ability to drive a company vehicle and tow a flatbed trailer to transport equipment to and from supplier.
- Potential overnight stay, if needed, to transport equipment to a local jobsite within 6 to 8 hours of the warehouse.
- Other duties as assigned.
WAREHOUSE SHIPPING & RECEIVING ASSOCIATE QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma
- 2+ years of working in a warehouse or as a Shipping & Receiving
- Experience driving a forklift
- Ability to pass MVR in order to drive company vehicles.
WAREHOUSE SHIPPING & RECEIVING ASSOCIATE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to traverse worksite in different types of weather and bend, climb, stretch, reach, and lean to perform duties.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
