Warehouse Manager

Position Summary:

Administration and management of the activities of the distribution center including shipping, receiving, and storing products. Position requires continual presence at warehouse to oversee operations.

Responsibilities:

·       Schedule delivery of inbound imported containers based on documentation detailing the expectation of goods.

·     Manage relationship with vendors by negotiating rates with carriers for the transportation   of goods.

·       Secure accuracy of reported inventories and conduct ongoing cycle counts.

·       Promote ongoing emphasis on operational efficiencies and excellent customer service.

·       Ensure correct shipping of all products in accordance with customer requirements.

·       Responsible for inventory transfers between warehouse and production.

·       Coordinate and control the order cycle using information systems by assigning priority and personnel to pull order and tracking progress against order status.

·       Manage personnel resources including hiring decisions, tasking, delegating duties, discipline and performance reviews for distribution team.

·       Manage facility operations including maintenance, repairs, and supplies.

·       Maintain expenses within budgeted levels as necessary.

·       Complete other projects as needed.

Education & Experience:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Business administration or relevant field.

·         Minimum of five years of experience managing operations in a warehouse including distributions, receiving, and personnel.

·         Experience enforcing safety programs including knowledge of training and OSHA regulations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·         Solid computer skills including working with an ERP, MS Office Suite, preferably SAP.

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills.

·         Basic mathematic principles to perform calculations.

·         Strong organizational skills including multi-tasking, prioritization, and time management.

·         Independent thinker with the ability to analyze problems and deliver solutions.

Physical Conditions:

Position requires sitting, standing, and walking.  Exposure to varying temperatures may occur in warehouse.
