We have an immediate opening for a Purchasing Agent to assist in the procurement of aircraft parts, components, and related aircraft maintenance materials and equipment. This position is in Sacramento, CA.
What you will do.
Under the supervision of the Inventory Manager, the Parts Room/Warehouse Lead maintains inventory control of aircraft parts and aeronautical tools and equipment, as well as directing and guiding the work of the Warehouse/Parts Room Workers assigned to the area of this position's responsibility. In this position, they will be responsible to perform the following tasks:
- Receipt, storage, inventory, and issuance of materials.
- Digitally track all parts utilizing bar coding and AMU computerized database
- Operation of handling equipment as necessary. Loading, and unloading trucks, freight cars, or other common carriers and transporting material to specified areas.
- Assisting in the receiving, unpacking, and checking of incoming material against invoices or bills of lading to verify items and quantities received.
- Packaging, tagging, and moving material to designated locations.
- Stocking and restocking shelves, bins, or other storage facilities.
- Preparing material for local issue or shipment.
- Contract personnel may also be required to operate motor vehicles.
- Ensure the consistency and accuracy of all information entered in the AMU computerized logistical database system, as pertinent to the parts rooms.
- Follow parts management procedures as outlined in the CAL FIRE Repair; Station/Quality Control Manual No. CFOR047Z; and other duties as assigned.
Other Duties and Responsibilities.
- Accomplish all tasks on the appropriate inventory checklist for the parts room or warehouse where you are assigned.
- Manage fixed wing or rotor ring parts room or the AMU warehouse as assigned.
- Supervise and facilitate the warehouse of aircraft parts, components, and related aircraft maintenance material.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks, freight cars, or other common carriers, and transporting material to the specific area.
- Comply with all dress code requirements.
- Add adherence to Cal Fires information technology (IT) Acceptable- Use Policy.
- Responsible for safeguarding all Cal Fire and LSI property and equipment provided.
- Ensure that all governmental facilities, property, and materials are left secure.
- Adhere to Cal Fires installation Security Program.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license.
- Three (3) years’ experience in the following: receipt, storage, handling, packing, and shipping of stock as well as performing inventories and maintaining inventory records.
- One (1) years’ experience working in the Aviation Management Unit’s warehouse or parts room facility.
- One (1) years’ experience working with the Aviation Management Unit’s computerized logistical database system.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other types of material handling equipment.
- Possess intermediate computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Successfully pass a drug screen and background check.

Logistic Specialties, Inc. (LSI) is the Aviation Logistics Support Contractor for the CAL FIRE Aviation Management Unit (AMU). We support CAL FIRE AMU by managing and operating their aircraft maintenance facility's Procurement Department, Parts Rooms, Warehouse, Repair Logistics Oversight, and Industrial Safety/HazMat program. This position is based at LSI’s offices at 5500 Price Avenue, McClellan, CA.
