· This is a contract position to plan and manage a Warehouse Construction and relocation project for a Tier-1 automotive supplier (manufacturing) in central Ohio.
· This position reports to a project lead appointed by the employer and is expected to plan and manage the entire project lifecycle for him/her, employing known project management framework, methodologies and tools most appropriate for the nature and the scale of the project.
· In the project execution phase, the Project Manager’s tasks include but not limited to:
§ Manage day-to-day execution of Construction Project to achieve on time and on budget of project, including management of and/or coordination with construction contractors, suppliers, government agencies, project team members and internal stakeholders
§ Timely review and negotiation of construction change orders
§ Lead Construction Project meetings
§ Maintain comprehensive records of quotes, signed CAPEX documents, purchase orders, and contracts for easy reference, ensuring meticulous and easily accessible filing for all team members throughout the business cycle.
§ Chair and maintain records of a regular project team meeting
§ Communicate with stakeholders according to an agreed communication plan
§ Track project progress against plan
§ Track spending against budget
§ Submit status report to Project Sponsors at an agreed-upon interval
§ Identify and respond to project and safety risks
§ Consult with Change Advisory Board, as appropriate
§ Performing a detailed project close-out to ensure all items have been appropriately closed
· This is a contract position with an anticipated duration (16-18 months)
Requirements
· Ability to manage multiple vendors
· Physical onsite presence is required for the duration of the contract.
· Light (up to 25%) travel to perform key constructions supplier visits, government agencies visits, regional HQ update meetings, etc.
· Work schedule and hours generally follow the employer’s calendar (7:30 a. m. – 4 p. m., M-F) but the Project Manager may be required to perform tasks outside the normal work hours as necessary.
Qualifications
· Years of Experience – Minimum of 3 years of development project management experience
· History of managing Construction Projects with short timelines
· Demonstrated track record of strong project management
· Up to date knowledge on construction practices and the ability to read blueprints and specifications
· Ability to use budget tracking software such as Excel, MS 365 and Project Management software.
· Experience managing a Construction Project, preferably of a warehouse
· Well-versed in PMBOK. PMP certification a plus
