Job description

Charisma Event Productions, a locally owned company specializing in A/V for conferences and events, is looking for a reliable and ambitious go-getter contractor to provide Warehouse and Audio Video (A/V) Specialist Event Production services. The contractor will work closely with our CEO, Production Manager and our talented team of freelancers to produce incredible Event Productions throughout the Wasatch front and beyond.

We are seeking a highly organized and skilled contractor to oversee our warehouse operations on a part-time contractual basis. The ideal individual will be responsible for maintaining order within the warehouse, repairing and ensuring all equipment is in working condition, organizing and labeling gear, preparing equipment for upcoming events, and managing logistics from loading to unloading. The scope of services must include loading vehicles with equipment, transporting equipment to events, co-leading event setup, providing technical support during events, co-leading the strike of events, and unloading and organizing gear after each event.

The weekly hours of this contracted position will fluctuate each week depending on client events and company demands. We expect this warehouse contractor to provide Charisma with priority availability to work shows.

About Us:

We are an Audio Visual company that started in 2019 and really took off during the pandemic because we became leaders in multi-camera live streaming. Two years ago we made the shift to a full service A/V company providing everything from lighting, staging, draping, and set design to audio, video, photography, and videography. We have a 1,500 sq. ft. warehouse and will be moving into a larger warehouse next year. Charisma Event Productions offers a fun and fast-paced work environment. We appreciate our freelancers and work towards providing the support and resources all key stakeholders need to succeed at every event.

Warehouse &A/V Specialist Event Production Scope of Services:

  • Coordinating all warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control and reports, space management, clean-up, maintenance and logistics
  • Performing all services related to ensuring all equipment needed at each event arrives, performs and returns in excellent working condition ready for the next Charisma event (company van, Charisma equipment and rental equipment)
  • Leading and/or providing all the technical services needed to provide an amazing production experience to all clients (video, lighting, and/or audio)
  • Providing as needed event and technical support to include but not limited to: A1, A2, L2, V2, stagehand, break out operator, video switcher, LED wall operator, stagehand, and all other services the contractor is qualified to fulfill for all Charisma events
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing safety standards and procedures

Qualifications and Expertise Required for the Contract

The contractor must possess the following experience and skill sets to effectively fulfill the scope of the Warehouse &A/V Specialist services:

  • 3+ years of experience in a warehouse role, preferably within the Event Production or A/V industry
  • 2+ years of experience as an audio engineer of video engineer
  • 3+ years’ of experience in live Event Production
  • 2+ years’ of experience loading and unloading A/V equipment in vehicles
  • 2+ years’ of experience setting up and testing A/V equipment for live events
  • 2+ years’ of troubleshooting and fixing basic equipment repairs
  • 1+ years’ leading one or more people in all aspects of a small to medium sized show
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff
  • Proficiency with warehouse procedures, policies, and inventory management.
  • Keen awareness of every aspect of an event with the drive to proactively improve or troubleshoot event challenges
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective and timely communicator
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Competent with audio, lighting, and video setup and troubleshooting
  • Experienced with live audio production including wireless microphone setup, programming audio boards, setting up PA speakers and line arrays, EQing a room. (2+ years of experience)
  • Experience with lighting including rigging stage lighting, basic DMX programming, and lighting design. (2+ years of experience)
  • Experience with video including setting up projectors and screens, TVs, confidence monitors, cameras, etc. (2+ years of experience)
  • Ability to lift 75+ lbs.
  • Ability to travel anywhere on the Wasatch Front in your own vehicle
  • Have a reliable vehicle and willing to transport small equipment in your own vehicle
  • Willingness to travel out of state when needed for events
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology, warehouse and project management software (Lasso, Monday, etc.)
  • Availability and physical/mental endurance to work 1-4 full-day events ranging from 8-14 hours

  • Initiative to organize and maintain the warehouse in near perfect condition

Range of Hourly Contracted Rates:

  • Warehouse rates begin at $ 22 - $24/hr for basic scope of services
  • Increased Technician rates will be paid per event based on the level of services provided: Lead A1, V1, or L1., etc.
  • Contractors are eligible for a monthly or bi-weekly payment schedule and must provide invoices for payment
  • Rates are negotiable and will be based on demonstrated technical skill sets

Hour of Contract & Working Conditions:

  • Part-time contractor role with variable hours depending on event schedule
  • Work will require evenings and weekends based on event timing
