Olsten Staffing is assisting a company local to Manning, SC in their search for an Area Manager. This positions is a temporary position, lasting 2 to 3 months.
The Area Manager has oversight and responsibility for shipping, receiving, kitting and delivery of all parts to the Assembly, Sub-assembly and Wheel Build lines in a timely and accurate manner to support production activities.
Responsible for collaboration with Management, Quality, Engineering, Assembly, Sub-Assembly, Wheelbuild, and Human Resources to organize workflow and resources to meet specifications and deadlines for the area.
Responsibilities:
  • Drive and Champion Safety Activities
  • Responsible for implementing safety training and protocols
  • Ensure maintenance of an organized, safe, and clean work environment
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, looking for ways to improve and promote quality, performance, and continuous improvement in all areas.
  • Supervise, coordinate training and work activities of workers engaged in kitting according to set specifications including: standards of quality, accurate and efficient delivery of parts to the production area, inventory control, and scrap tracking
  • Review production schedule and p.o. to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments
  • Monitor product standards, examining or directing pre-production sample production, to ensure parts provided for finished products are of prescribed quality with availability for timely production completion.
  • Monitor kitting activities to proactively anticipate and resolve issues.
  • Take immediate action to address and correct all reported quality, parts, accuracy or delivery issues
  • Identify and implement preventative measures to prevent re-occurrence of identified issues
  • Communicate operational data and kitted inventory numbers, as well as corrective action and preventative measures implemented for process improvement, at both the factory level and corporate level, as required.
  • Communicate operations, safety and policy information to work team regularly
  • Verify and document that correct parts, in the correct quantities and meeting quality standards, are provided to designated areas
  • Ensure that scrap has been accounted for and discarded.
  • Verify that parts are on hand, as required by the production schedule and purchase order
  • Report shortages or unusable parts due to defects or damage
  • Restock any left-over parts following production completion, which may result due to unforeseen issues.
  • Champion, model and enforce adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
  • Supervise, monitor and review performance of staff and consistently implement necessary interventions and personnel actions for improvement and accountability.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels by regulating workplace absences and collaborating with HR for staffing needs
  • Make employee life cycle recommendations, to include: hiring, promotion, pay rates, termination
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has supervisory responsibility for the designated area, which includes supervision of parts delivery and tracking process, manpower distribution, and employment actions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Word, Excel) and office equipment.
  • Three years of related supervisory experience;
    • General safety and supervisory skills training;
    • Good work record, with the ability to lead in a manufacturing environment;
    • A sound understanding of warehouse processes and procedures is preferred. ADDITIONAL KSA REQUIREMENTS:
    •Willingness to wear common protective safety equipment and actively participate in safety activities.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with other employees and management;
    • Effective organizational and leaderships skills
    • Ability to be flexible when faced with frequent operational change.
    • Works well under pressure with real deadlines and customer commitments at stake.
    • Ability to effectively solve problems.
    •Ability to motivate and work with others in a professional manner in a team environment.
    •Must be flexible with work schedule.

Pay Details: $21.64 per hour
