Wenzhi Gong will be conducting research pertaining to the Regulation of Nucleotide Excision Repair and will study DNA damage and repair mechanisms in yeast and human cells, recording new or additional data and publishing manuscript(s) with Dr. Shisheng Li, PI.
50% - Design and perform experiments involving molecular biology techniques, e.g. PCR, plasmid manipulation, DNA/RNA/protein isolation, Southern/Northern/Western blotting and DNA sequencing.
45% - Perform data analysis and writing manuscripts for publications.
5% - Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in biochemistry and/or molecular biology or other biomedical or biological degree and 1 year of experience.
Special and Physical Qualifications:
Required to be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching above the shoulder, reaching below the shoulder, vision near sight, twisting, pushing/pulling, grasping, and squatting.
