Form of workA great family is looking for an amazing long-term, full-time, live-out, Personal Assistant. The role starts in January. They are offering relocation, with preference to someone from NYC. The family includes the mother, father, 13-year-old girl, and 10-year-old girl. They are animal lovers; they have four dogs, one cat, and chickens. Other staff includes a full-time housekeeper. Their family office is an hour South of Atlanta and their estate manager is based there.
This person must have several years experience as a Personal Assistant for a HNW family. They are HNW but low-profile, and are very private. Job details will include, but are not limited to- managing household inventory, grocery shopping, supervising vendors, and maintenance and care of vehicles. There is heavy and complex travel planning, including being creative as the mother travels to remote locations. This person will also make reservations and appointments, and manage extensive packages and correspondence. The family lives in a 100-year-old house, so there is always maintenance and renovations to be done. This person should have great follow-through; projects will include everything from researching, getting estimates, through to completion. The Personal Assistant will also help with event and dinner party planning; event planning experience is required, as they enjoy entertaining and hosting fund-raising dinners. This person will also, along with the housekeeper, prep the home for overnight guests. This will include arranging for airport pick up.
The family requires some limited child and pet care in this role. Childcare duties include picking the children up from school and taking them to and from activities. Pet care includes feeding the animals and letting the dogs out throughout the day. The family may ask for this person to house and pet sit/stay overnight when they are all gone, or be open to staying with the girls when just the parents go away. If the Personal Assistant is not able to, then they will be in charge of getting someone to do the sitting/overnights.
The father is in tech and works remotely from home. The mother is an artist, a writer, runs a non-profit, and serves on two boards. She is also remote, working from home. They both travel extensively for work- there may be times the Personal Assistant may be asked to travel with them, particularly with the mother when she travels for work. Travel destinations may include Europe and Asia. She is really looking for someone that is genuinely interested in learning what they do, and getting involved in that and helping where needed. This will include creating and maintaining relationships with work vendors and fashion houses.
To be successful in this role, you must be a self-starter, take initiative and be proactive, be able to keep the principal on task, be very organized, must be tech savvy, must have heavy calendar experience, must know Google Docs, must know MAC, and knowing Excel is a bonus. Must also have experience managing staff, as this person will manage the housekeeper. The Personal Assistant must be communicative, feel free to ask questions - especially in the 'getting to know them' period, and should keep notes of their likes, dislikes, etc. This role does require being great at research, as the role is research heavy, on both business and personal sides. They appreciate their Personal Assistant having a relaxed demeanor- recognizing when they are having family time, but also helping to be the glue to keep things in the household and their schedules flowing.
On their property is a guest house- in the spring this will become the Personal Assistant's office.They also have a rental property about an hour South of Atlanta- this is generally handled by the estate manager, but the Personal Assistant may be asked to go there, if needed. Hours will ideally be Monday through Friday, business hours, with the flexibility to stay late and work occasional weekends, if needed. After three months, the family will offer medical, dental, and vision, PTO, paid sick/personal days, main federal holidays, and a discretionary yearly bonus. You must have your valid U.S. Passport, or be able to obtain upon being hired. The Personal Assistant must have their valid drivers' license, must have a car, and must have a clean driving license.
