About the position:
In addition to core strengths in Personal Systems, Printing, and Collaboration, HP is advancing its capabilities as a solution provider. Building on a strong heritage in solutions such as managed print services, managed device services, and managed collaboration services, HP is now expanding into a broader set of Solutions to address the future of work. Our solutions portfolio is growing as our customers ask for guidance on how they can enable their workforce with AI, transform their workspace in the hybrid work era, and redefine IT management to drive world-class employee experiences. We are collaborating with leading software and services partners to provide a comprehensive portfolio of compelling solutions to our enterprise, mid-market, and SMB customers. While we have a direct sales motion, HP's core strength lies in its channel partnerships.
We want to be the vendor of choice for helping our channel partners expand their solutions businesses. An important enabler of this growth initiative is defining and launching the right portfolio of Solutions to help our customers imagine, plan, execute and monitor their future of work transformations.
The VP of Solutions will lead a global team responsible for overseeing our portfolio of Solutions. They will grow and evolve teams focused on the future of the workforce, workspace, and IT management, addressing important issues such as the growth of AI, the move to hybrid work, and sustainability in IT. This leader will drive the strategy, innovation, and execution of our solutions portfolio while also focusing on transforming a global organization of talented, motivated people supporting the growth objectives of HP's Personal Systems, Printing, and Workforce Solutions business units.
This leader will be responsible for the definition, delivery, and overall P&L of the Solutions portfolio, collaborating with peers leading Professional Services, Managed Services, Channel Go-to-Market and Direct Go-to-Market. They will develop end-to-end solutions including hardware, software, services, and supplies from both HP and third parties. They will own the vision, roadmap, architecture, partnerships, enablement, and P&L operations to ensure that they can deliver on a growth P&L.
Experience in the IT solutions industry is required for this role. The ideal candidate also has experience in a growth-oriented enterprise organization transforming and growing its Solutions business unit. This candidate should have direct experience in moving from a product-centric business model to a solution-centric model that focuses on addressing C-level customer pain points in a B2B environment. This leader should be focused not only on developing solutions, but on running a global P&L and identifying when, where, and how to engage with the country and market leaders around the world to drive performance. The successful leader must be analytical, results-oriented, self-driven, willing to work with ambiguity, and have a "can-do" attitude. The candidate must have a proven track record of both defining a vision for the Solutions portfolio and executing on that vision globally. The candidate should also be excellent at nurturing cross-organization relationships to accomplish goals and transforming an existing team, not just building a new one. Executive presentation skills are a significant part of the role. A passionate and energized change management individual is required to help assess, recommend, evangelize, and implement best industry standards. Experience in the future of work and end-user solutions area is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: As the leader of the Solutions portfolio organization, they will be responsible for setting the overall strategic direction for our future of work portfolio and ensuring that it is aligned with the company's goals and objectives. They must also provide strong leadership and management to the team of professionals working under them.
  • Customer Relationship Management: The VP of Solutions will have key interactions with customers at the C-suite level to understand their pain points, share our thought leadership and solutions portfolio, and support ongoing customer success. This will involve working closely with sales and business development teams to identify new opportunities and expand our scope in existing customers.
  • Solution Management: The VP of Solutions is responsible for the full lifecycle of Solution Management from developing thought leadership to envisioning the portfolio, establishing key partnerships for solution components, developing architecture, and enabling solutions for sales, professional services, and managed services. These solutions may vary by Market.
  • Resource Management: The VP of Solutions is responsible for managing the organization's resources, including people, technology, and processes. They must ensure that the team has the necessary skills and tools to develop high-quality solutions for customers.
  • Performance Management: The VP of Solutions is responsible for setting performance goals for the team and monitoring progress against those goals. They must provide regular feedback and coaching to team members and ensure that their team members have the necessary training and development opportunities.
  • Risk Management: The VP of Solutions is responsible for identifying and mitigating risks associated with solutions coming from HP and third parties. This may involve working with legal and compliance teams to ensure that solutions comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: The VP of Solutions is responsible for identifying areas for improvement in the business's processes, systems, and services. They must work closely with other functional organizations to implement improvements and drive overall business performance.

Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or demonstrable equivalent in information systems/technology, computer science, engineering or business degree. Masters' degree or demonstrable equivalent preferred.
  • Typically, 10+ years of senior management experience, including leading global teams.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing a global team of 50 or more people.
  • A deep understanding of IT solutions industry, including trends, challenges, and opportunities for solutions that span hardware, software, services, and supplies. This leader should also have experience working with partners and an ecosystem of solution suppliers.
  • Experience in product and portfolio management, developing a vision for the portfolio and delivering a roadmap of Solutions that brings the vision to life.
  • Experience in delivering high-quality solutions to clients. This includes providing architecture guidelines, configuration support, and risk management plans to ensure that solutions, once delivered, can stay running for years to come.
  • Experience leading a large organization to achieve today's goals while simultaneously transforming it for the future.
  • A strong understanding of business principles, including finance, marketing, and strategy. They should be able to align the services provided with the overall business objectives and ensure that the department is operating efficiently and profitably.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team, manage resources effectively, and provide clear direction and guidance.
  • Experience in sales and business development, including identifying new opportunities and upselling existing services. They should also have strong networking skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and partners.
  • Experience with Product, Services, and Software business models.
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement best practices and make effective process improvements.
  • Exceptionally strong executive presence, excellent communication skills, and ability to be concise in sharing information with executive audiences.
  • Ideally has gained experience working and living in multiple geographies, interacting with leaders from different cultures and industries.
  • Experience interacting with executive level partners both internally and externally, including the C-suite executives.
