Job Summary:

As Vice President of Plant Operations, you will be responsible for creating and driving the implementation of manufacturing policies and programs across the NCS network, which currently consists of 7 manufacturing facilities – ONE NCS. These actions will guide each of the plants in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation. This role has direct oversight over each plant leader and will work collaboratively across the entire organization to ensure sales needs are met. The successful candidate will direct and coordinate these activities so that NCS achieves its goal of Operational Excellence.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for approving each plants annual budget, including capital expenditures and directs preparation of cost control reports, cost estimates, manpower and facilities requirements forecasts.
• Provide leadership and development to the team and create an engaging environment with clear responsibilities, defined goals and objectives, quarterly key results and visibility to weekly progress reporting. Develop a recurring set of operational metrics, cadence of meetings and communications for your organization and for NCS.
• Champion for safety throughout the manufacturing operation. Driving awareness, best in class training programs, robust plant safety committee activity and engrain into the DNA of the company.
• Transform company culture to one of Continuous Improvement and Accountability. Develop, recommend and support lean manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement throughout the facilities.
• Formulate and installs standard manufacturing practices based on comparative studies of methods, costs and production figures.
• Identify and develop process improvement champions in the organization, to continuously review and improve efficiencies and processes.
• Makes recommendations for makes vs buy throughout the manufacturing organization.
• Recommends company footprint strategy including restructuring, consolidation or expansion plans.
• Creates an environment that implements, utilizes and embraces Lean manufacturing tools across the supply chain at each plant location.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering, Business or other related discipline
• Green Belt or Black Belt Certification, preferred
• Minimum of 10 years successfully leading a multi-facility manufacturing organization
• Experience in low volume/high mix manufacturing, preferred
• Management, Leadership and staff development experience
• Ability to implement lean manufacturing practices
• Perform the responsibilities of the position at a satisfactory level of efficiency
• Must maintain confidentiality of employee, department, and company business
• Must utilize a laptop or PC routinely
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
