Volunteer Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

Responsible for the coordination and provision of all volunteer activities to ensure consistency with Hudson Valley Hospice philosophy and strategic planning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for the initial assessment of volunteer services for new admissions.
• Assists the Director of Volunteers in the assessment, planning and providing of all aspects of volunteer training.
• Ensure that all volunteers are following training, health requirements, and competency requirements.
• Ensure that all orientations are completed for every volunteer.
• Maintain necessary records and statistics in compliance with state and federal requirements.
• Ensure volunteer documentation is following Department of Health and Joint Commission standards of care.
• Ensure Volunteer time is recorded accurately, and that documentation is submitted per policy.
• Responsible for the ongoing development of volunteer training.
• Provides volunteer training sessions based on agency needs.
• Ensure that all incidents and complaints are reported per policy.
• Community education and recruitment.
• Assist Director of Volunteers in the ongoing recruitment of volunteers
• Responsible for ongoing and annual Volunteer evaluations.
• Represent the volunteer role in the interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Coordinate the planning and enhancement of initiatives to increase utilization of volunteers.
• Educate staff relative to value and proper utilization of volunteers.
• Facilitate volunteer support across all care sites.

Hours: Monday-Friday (8:30am-4:30pm)

FLSA: Exempt

Pay: $60,000-$64,000/year
