JOB SUMMARY:Under the general supervision of the Ke Ola Pono Coordinator, designs, develops and implements a wide range of client education and vocational rehabilitation activities beginning from assisting clients with accessing benefits while in treatment and then building their skills in financial independence as they transition through the continuum and begin employment.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in educational/vocational counseling preferred. Bachelor's degree in a related counseling field with at least one-year vocational counseling experience is required. Requires leadership abilities, effective verbal and written communication skills, maturity, insight and sound judgment. Should be able to demonstrate professional level instructional skills, including planning, presentation and evaluation. Personal vehicle and valid Hawaii State driver license required.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Regular attendance is required for the position.
- This position will teach classes to clients, coordinate guest speakers and learning opportunities (excursions) for clients and accompany individual clients for specific benefits and/or vocational activities.
- Assists in the development of vocational goals in the Recovery Plan and/or Health and Wellness Plan of clients in the FTS continuum of care as appropriate.
- Develops curriculum, knowledge, understanding, and experience in working with CBT groups in order to engage clients for pro-social skills acquisition and rehearsal in contrast to anti-social skills as it relates to vocational needs/services for continuum clients.
- Coordinates client training activities with public and private agencies, employers and placement resources.
- Develops knowledge and understanding of changing employment market trends and applies this to vocational programming at FTS.
- Assist and accompanies clients with various case management services including referral linkage, collateral contacts, and other client support services and coordinates with fellow case managers from the Ke Ola Pono and Ka ‘Ohu Hou O Manoa programs.
- Interacts with others with courtesy and respect.
- Maintains work area in a neat, orderly and sanitary manner.
- Correctly and promptly follows specified agency procedures required for the appropriate handling of all Emergency Response.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Able to meet basic standards of physical, mental health, and communication demands. Specified by State and/or professional accreditation standards applicable to this agency. Initial/Annual criminal background check, pre-employment, annual physical examination, CPR/first aid, TB test, and driver abstract compliance with agency policy are required.
