Summary

The Print Copy Mail team has an exciting opportunity to employ a Stock keeper to support delivery of U Attic services to campus and medical center customers. As a UAttic Stock keeper, this individual is responsible for ensuring prompt storage and retrieve of customer items upon request. This position also supports other currier needs through the delivery of completed Print and Copy center jobs, working with customers to pick up materials and documentation for new print and copy center requests, maintain accurate delivery logs, and delivering excellent customer service to all customers of the Print Copy Mail teams. Day-to-day operational duties include: Receiving work requests and completed orders, reconciling deliveries with work requests, transporting stock via lift truck or motor vehicles, assisting in inventory control procedures, and ensuring work area and vehicle is clean and in safe working order.
This position is a full-time appointment and will report to the Copy Center Supervisor. This role requires someone who can work under limited supervision, proactively anticipate and resolve problems, has experience in a role providing excellent customer service, the ability to execute routine procedures, and has the passion to exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities*

The selected candidate will:

PRODUCTION SUPPORT (50 %)

  • Customer Service - email & phone inquiries
  • Perform data entry tasks with the Fulfillment Software and ensure accuracy of logging in new orders & fulfilling shipments
  • Retrieve and transport items from inventory locations
  • Prepare items for delivery to units
  • Deliver & Pick up orders and coordinate with other team members when necessary
  • Organize warehouse
  • Offload pallets from freight - move within the building
  • Operate Forklift when placing and retrieving pallets
  • Unload Copy Center inventory and put in the correct location
  • Empty recycling containers in Copy Center & Mail Services
  • Monitoring available storage levels
  • Unload APC from USPS
  • Maintain USPS tray/bin Inventory

RELATED DUTIES (50 %)

  • Deliver Print-Copy printed jobs & pick up materials from customers, including USPS mail for metering.
  • Perform material handling and shipping functions such as carton and skid moving, banding, traying, bagging and skid wrapping to postal specifications.
  • Pickup and deliver material from customers and postal facilities as required.
  • Maintain accurate billing, postal, and time and materials records.
  • Pick up paper from key local suppliers
  • Backup campus mail drivers and other material handlers during spot driver shortages.
  • Maintain inventory of expendable supplies and request replacement material in advance to avoid production down time.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, adjusting, minor repairs and lubricating.
  • Receive, sort and process mail and parcel post, and advise departments of mail schedules and regulations.

Required Qualifications*

  • Expected to work independently, and regularly exercise judgment in setting priorities, resolving problems, and the application of policies, procedures, and methods.
  • Must have the ability to work periodic scheduled and unscheduled overtime as required by internal and external customer needs.

Work Schedule

7:40am-4pm with 1/2 hour lunch.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the AFSCME union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
