Salem Web Network (SWN), a subsidiary of Salem Media Group, is seeking a full-time Video Site Specialistcommitted to editorial oversight, strategic content implementation, copywriting, and systems management of our inspirational video brands. This includes the creation of and administration of the publication of audio, video, and devotional content across a variety of digital platforms—including email newsletters, Facebook, Spreaker, GodTube, and GodUpdates. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to juggle a wide variety of tasks requiring a great deal of independent judgment. The position is open to US-based candidates who can work hybrid from our Richmond, VA office or remotely from home.
Responsibilities: Professional/Creative responsibilities include:
- Write creative copy for each podcast episode landing page to encourage listener downloads for each episode.
- Create artistic graphic images used to enhance viewer experience in articles, videos, and podcast landing pages using design software such as Photoshop (Pixlr.)
- Edit videos or audio clips using video and audio editing software such as Adobe Premiere.
- Solely responsible to identify, write and prepare movie-related editorial content to be featured on-site and in the Movie newsletter for GodTube. Use discretionary judgment to determine which videos are best for our audience, and prepare and schedule newsletter sends with movie content.
Professional/Administrative responsibilities include:
- Solely responsible for any needed day-to-day communications with the record label to ensure that content, assets, and metadata are migrated from the recording artists using a variety of systems such as music industry proprietary technology to include transponders and pier-to-pier data transfer systems. Serve as liaison between Salem, record labels, and the IT and Development teams.
- Utilize knowledge of our audience and of Google analytics reporting to run necessary reports and make determinations about top-performing content to feature in newsletters and social media posts.
- Solely responsible for managing podcast content migration on Spreaker to include edited audio, graphics, and other assets. Write accompanying copy, create graphics, select appropriate ad categories for our audience and insert ads.
- Using great attention to detail, use Salem CMS (Content Management System) and WordPress to produce content on GodTube and GodUpdates websites.
Support responsibilities include:
- Solely responsible for moderating all user-generated content on GodTube, Assessing each piece of content, and using discretionary judgment to remove any and all content that does not meet standards as established by Terms of Use.
- Use proprietary SWN system to schedule newsletters for GodUpdates and GodTube.
- Monitor communications from viewers of GodUpdates and GodTube and provide customer support. Contact Development as needed and monitor progress to ensure solutions are found and communicated to the appropriate individuals.
- Provide support services to production and editorial staff. Initiate and lead communications between Video Site Content Specialists to ensure all newly produced content is visible on the sites for the public and is scheduled out on social media and in email newsletters. Work with Podcast Producers to ensure a steady stream of content is produced and scheduled weekly.

Preferences for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or equivalent experience
- WordPress experience
- Knowledgeable in Content Management Systems (CMS)

Compensation: Salary range is $18.27-20.68 per hour
