Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 dependent on experience

ABOUT THE POSITION

As a full time opportunity, the Video QC Specialist is responsible for the optimization and execution of QA/QC processes for all of Dropout’s final deliverables. Candidates for this detail oriented role must be able to demonstrate, through past work experience, a superior talent for thorough and accurate reporting of multiple types of errors in both short and long form video content. Candidates must also possess a personable and solution driven demeanor, as this role necessitates frequent coordination with multiple teams, management of temporary QC freelancers, and timely delivery of content that adheres to Dropout’s strict deadlines and quality standards. The ideal candidate possesses management experience in post production/QA processes, a love of comedy, a familiarity with TTRPG mechanics, and genuine enthusiasm for finessing QA process as well as performing digital media QC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform quality assurance testing on extensive video content and related deliverables (ProRes, .mp4, .srt, etc), ensuring that all content meets the highest standards of quality based on Dropout’s established requirements. 
• Act as the final catch for any remaining creative integrity issues as well as technical audio/video issues.
• Generate QC error logs for all new release content and submit reports in a thorough and timely manner.
• Work closely with the Post Production team as well as the Distribution Coordinator to ensure that QC timelines are accurately estimated, communicated, and executed, with final assets delivered on time per deliverable requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to master exports and related final deliverables, employing advanced problem-solving skills.
• Facilitate the outsourcing of QC as needed, including regular hiring, onboarding and management of temporary, freelance closed caption editors
• Optimize QA process throughput, strategizing and facilitating improvements to existing QC processes as the needs of Post Production and Distribution evolve
• Stay up to date on spec requirements for all delivery end points (OTT, YouTube, etc.) and facilitate the creation of updated export presets where applicable
• Keep all QC/QA documents up to date, including company-wide SOP, end-platform policies, asset spec requirements, and freelance QC onboarding documents
• Actively research, advise on and implement new software tools and strategies to aid in and expedite QC/QA processes
• Provide content release coverage and streaming platforms QA as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years digital video experience and/or digital asset management
• 2+ years of digital media QA/QC experience
• Ability to demonstrate, through previous employment, an accurate and methodical approach to testing, as well as very focused and detailed attention to audio, and video impairments.
• Keen eye and ear for copyediting errors and audio hits
• Deep understanding of technical video and audio specifications and export processes (e.g. video bitrates and codecs)
• Experience writing/maintaining & organizing QA/QC guidelines via written documentation
• Self-starter able to demonstrate proactive, creative problem solving strategies, diplomacy and initiative in previous work experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate in a concise and amiable manner
• Project management skills and experience, with the ability to set deadlines and delegate tasks.
• Comfortable working independently, with the ability to make subjective decisions and escalate issues when necessary
• Excellent organizational skills with superior attention to detail
• Flexibility in adapting to changes in processes, workload, and priorities
• Ability to monitor and resolve multiple incidents concurrently
• Willingness to work from the Dropout studio in Los Angeles on a regular basis
• Must be able to work out of our Los Angeles post facilities on a regular basis

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Digital Video, Film or related degree
• Familiarity with Airtable, Google Suite, Frame.io, and Adobe applications
• Experience with and appreciation for TTRPGs

Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday, 10am - 6pm PST 

Location: Hybrid Remote, Los Angeles (Candidates must be able to travel regularly to our Los Angeles Studio)
