Video Editor

Matchbook Productions is a growing media advertising business based in Baltimore, Maryland. For over fifteen years, we have been serving customers of every variety— from small shop owners to some of the nation’s largest home builders. Since our inception, our mission has always been to help businesses succeed through creative videos and photography.

We are seeking an experienced Video Editor for our growing production team.

This position will assemble recorded footage into a finished project that matches the client's vision. We are looking for someone with passion and creativity who has an advanced skillset in video editing. The ideal candidate will bring new ideas that engage existing and potential clients, and efficiently manage a video production from preproduction to postproduction.

Responsibilities

• Edit videos using Final Cut Pro
• Apply various methods of post-production creative editing to complete long and short form video projects
• Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity
• Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
• Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects
• Create rough and final cuts
• Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
• Consult with internal and external stakeholders from production to post-production process
• Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
• Organize footage in company archives

Qualifications

• Expert-level user of Final Cut Pro required; Photoshop skills preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of audio set up & mixing (with music, narration and natural sound)
• Complete understanding of the video production process to include a familiarity of conceptualizing, scripting, filming and editing
• Professional experience in a similar position or previous experience as a Video Editor
• Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
• Creative mind and storytelling skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, time management and identify resources for projects
• Must be meticulous, creative, detail oriented, and organized

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
