Purpose:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President, Strategic Regulatory Initiatives & Analysis to join our team. As a Vice President of Financial Strategy & Regulation, you will be responsible for organizing firm-wide strategic financial and technical analyses and advocacy regarding Apollo's and Athene's] business. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting strategic analysis of global financial regulation and policy, particularly at the intersection of insurance and asset management, and analyzing impacts from strategic, quantitative and technical perspectives. Your responsibilities will include undertaking complex, bespoke analysis in response to global policy and regulatory matters, and creation of content and analysis for internal and external communication. Your primary focus will be to support decision-making and strategic planning processes. The position will report to the Global Head of Insurance Regulation of Apollo/Athene. You will also support other executives, in particular the General Counsel of Apollo and the EVP Head of Government and Regulatory Relations of Athene.
Accountabilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of global financial regulations and policy positions and potential impacts on Apollo (and its insurance holdings) and the financial industry as a whole.
  • Collaborate with enterprise-wide businesses at Apollo and cross-functional teams, including executives, risk management and business units, to understand the implications of regulatory changes and develop proactive strategies.
  • Analyze and assess the potential risks, challenges, and opportunities arising from regulatory changes, considering financial, technical and strategic perspectives.
  • Monitor developments in credit markets, asset management, and life insurance industry, including changes in financial regulation, policies, and standards.
  • Perform high-level financial modeling to evaluate the financial impact of regulatory changes on Apollo's operations, profitability, and risk profile.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting potential opportunities, risks and advocacy.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams in implementing and adapting to regulatory changes, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as third party clients, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and consultants, to gather insights and perspectives on global financial regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field. MBA, CFA, FRM or similar other advanced degree or financial certification preferred.
  • Highly motivated with proven (7+ years) experience in strategic analysis of global financial environment, including banking, securities, insurance and/or other relevant financial environments.
  • Excellent PowerPoint skills required.
  • Some proficiency in quantitative analysis and financial modeling.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial and regulatory concepts into actionable insights and persuasive written materials.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

$217,520.00 - $326,280.00 USD Annual
Annual Salary for this role is market competitive. Actual salary for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Depending on the role, a discretionary bonus plan or variable sales incentive may be included.
