The primary purpose of the VP Sales position in SLED Central is to 1) recruit and retain a diverse team of Industry Account Executives, 2) model and enforce the SLED and Regulated Industries culture across the region and extended team, and 3) consistently attain targeted revenue goals.  To accomplish these goals, the leader must develop specific territory plans to ensure growth in all areas of the business, minimize churn, uphold performance standards, and manage priorities for the sales team.

 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

 

  • Work with SLED leaders to identify the SLED vision and strategy and then ensure consistent communication out to the Central sales team, adapting as appropriate to meet the specific needs of the Central region.
  • Provide oversight for IAE territory plans to ensure growth in all revenue streams.
  • Build a network of executive relationships with key customers and partners.
  • Provide thought leadership in discussing and communicating company strategy with the virtual account team.
  • Work collaboratively with other internal teams within SAP:  regional Sales teams, Marketing, Development, Centers of Excellence, Cloud Success Services, etc.
  • Coach team members on SAP processes.
  • Assist account team in identification, development, pursuit, negotiation, and closing of opportunities.
  • Develop and share an effective internal network.
  • Conduct account reviews with team members and virtual team.
  • Manage territory and account assignment.
  • Provide coaching and account strategy support throughout sales cycle(s).
  • Facilitate individual growth and development.
  • Promote customer successes and the value these customers capture from their investments in SAP – strive to create active References.

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years related business software experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years management experience in a fast-paced, consultative, and competitive team-selling environment preferred.
  • Must have general familiarity with consultative selling methodologies.
  • Experience in business application software sales required.
  • Experience with SLED contracting vehicles and customer procurement processes required.
