How You'll Make an Impact:
This position is an executive role for the new Live Orchestration development team, which will be charged with designing, building, and supporting resilient tools enabling automated and manual live stream management at scale with a minimal operational footprint. The VP, Software Engineering will be broadly responsible for the work of a highly performant and nimble team of leaders and individual contributors in Software Engineering and technical project management and will work closely with peers to deliver work aligned to company goals and roadmaps.
What You'll Do:

• Own the live stream orchestration technologies and platform used to schedule, configure, and monitor live streaming resources as well as live stream output
• Boost developer and TPM autonomy, efficiency, and ability to contribute to parallelized work; be a master delegator, advocate, and mentor
• Lead and grow an efficient and high performing diverse software development organization with a culture of agile development focused on developing Live Orchestration tools that are second-to-none in terms of resilience, scalability, adaptability, and stability
• Work closely with business partners, engineering peers, stakeholders, and internal users to ensure delivery of tools that meet business needs
• Develop and foster an inclusive culture for all team members
• Work with the leaders on your team to ensure technical best practices are constantly developed and respected
• Be responsive to the business in proposing and developing new features and services
• Serve as a stabilizing presence during transitions; provide clear direction and constructive guidance
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning
• Manage a geographically dispersed team

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
• 15+ years of professional Software Engineering experience which must include 5+ years managing Software Engineering teams in a technical organization
• Experience in broadcasting, streaming services and/or media engineering; direct experience with Live Orchestration a plus
• Proven experience running development teams responsible for their own project management and quality assurance
• Proven ability to recruit and retain world-class engineers and technical project managers
• Demonstrated tactical expertise to achieve strategic aims under changing circumstances
• Excellent managerial skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization
• An openness to challenging the status quo with enough savvy to do so constructively
• Ability to motivate engineering teams to produce high quality results within challenging time frames and throughout ongoing change
• High level of autonomy and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency, ownership, and results-orientation
• Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and work under shifting deadlines
• Dedication to thorough testing and creating high quality software

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $205,000 to $300,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
