Essential Responsibilities:
- Conduct all business in a moral and ethical manner leaving no room to question the integrity of the park or its staff
- Ensure that Bonnet Springs Park is a safe, efficient, well-managed operation
- Ensure that excellence in customer service applies to both external and internal customers
- Be a creative thinker with strict a financial discipline mindset to running operations
- Set a standard of quality in cleanliness and quality ensuring the park become perceived as an industry benchmark
- The VP of Operations will have final signoff on special events and programming to ensure safety, efficiency, and execution of the event
- Assist the CEO as required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Be entrepreneurial and conduct business with a for-profit mentality regarding spending and fiscal management principles
- Work with departmental directors to develop accurate departmental budgets, prepare necessary reports, and approve purchases
- Partner with HR to maintain appropriate staffing levels and employee engagement
- Lead a diverse workforce toward accomplishing the mission and goals of Bonnet Springs Park
- Work with the VP of Programming to ensure smooth execution of special events
- Oversee the development and implementation of standard operating procedures
- Ensure that any third-party vendor contract/service is executed to the park’s expectation
- Works closely with VP of Revenue to execute event setups for caterings, weddings, etc
- Oversees park’s Safety Program and ensures that park operates within regulatory guidelines
- Provide direction to the maintenance and horticulture departments and facility oversight of all planned maintenance programs for park
- Develop relationships with local emergency service and plan annual roundtable meetings or as often as needed
- Provide CEO with all relevant information in a timely manner as it pertains to the operations of the park or any challenges that arise
- Benchmark other relevant area attractions for best practices
- Ensure compliance with relevant government agencies
- Other duties as assigned or required
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred; however, equivalent experience in a similar position may be accepted
Experience
- Minimum five years’ senior level experience in theme parks, waterparks, resorts, museums, zoos, parks & recreation, or other like industry
- Attraction or business startup experience is preferred
Demonstrated Knowledge and Skills
- Proficient Microsoft Office and Google G-Suite
- Ability to learn and become proficient in other software such as point-of-sale or security camera systems
- Must be a forward-thinking change agent who recognizes need and implements plans
- Possess planning and organization skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Possess listening and problem-solving skills
- Must possess excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
- Must be able to generate appropriate reports and/or spreadsheets
Requirements:
- Pass a background check and mandatory drug test
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable through the park’s insurance carrier
- Must be able to “manage by walking around” in a 168-acre park
- Must have good people skills and be comfortable dealing with the public
- Must be willing and able to work varied and long shifts including holidays, weekends, and events
- Willing to relocate to the Lakeland area
Work Environment:
The work environment is widely varied and spans from quiet indoor office work to loud outdoor work in extreme weather conditions, primarily heat, though cold weather work may be necessary. The candidate must be able to adapt to either condition very quickly as transitioning from indoor to outdoor could occur multiple times per day.

The physical demands representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job include but are not limited to regularly required to sit, stand, walk, see, hear, talk, drive and meet with others. Employee must possess conversational hearing, with or without aid, as well as adequate vision and ability to verbally communicate effectively. Additionally, employee must possess dexterity to operate standard office equipment, drive a golf cart and ability to occasionally lift 40 pounds or more.
