Job description

Uncommon Brands and Crux Capital are accepting applications for the Vice President of Operations position. The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for managing all aspects of our newly acquired brand’s operations. This is the top operations position in the newly acquired brand and will be responsible for building best-in-class restaurants and multi-unit management teams positioned for growth and profitability. This position will report directly to the executive team of Uncommon Brands and will be instrumental in the development and execution of the strategic plan and growth of the brand. We are looking for a ‘hands on’ leader that has experience building amazing teams in a high growth multi-unit restaurant environment.

What You’ll Do:

Strategic Collaboration and Execution:

  • Work closely with Uncommon Brands executive team in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and overall growth of the brand.
  • Turn strategic goals into actionable steps, overseeing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning.
  • Collaborate on implementing innovative systems, programs, and technology to enhance the employee and guest experience.
  • Partner with HR to address performance, disciplinary, and employee relations issues.

Operations Management:

  • Collaborate with executive team to implement effective policies, procedures, standards, and systems for operational efficiency.
  • Spearhead operational strategies aligned with the company’s vision and annual budget planning.
  • Be a visible presence and provide operational leadership throughout all restaurants.
  • Support employee career growth, training, development, and internal promotions.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for employees and guests.

Financial Management:

  • Measure and manage sales, profitability, and cash flow to achieve favorable financial results.
  • Analyze current performance metrics to optimize business growth and profitability strategy with proper use of systems, reporting, and controls.
  • Set challenging and realistic goals for growth, performance, and profitability.
  • Manage capital investments and expenses to achieve targets for growth and profitability.
  • Identify and resolve financial challenges caused by operational issues.
  • Present monthly financial updates to the executive team.

Leadership:

  • Be a collaborative, team-first, solutions-oriented leader.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with restaurant and executive teams.
  • Recruit, train, support, mentor, and grow restaurant management and New Restaurant Opening teams.
  • Cultivate a positive, inclusive work culture that encourages teamwork, professionalism, and excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and take appropriate action to address issues.
  • Listen, learn, and solve problems.

What we are looking for:

  • 15+ years of Operations Leadership in high-growth environments.
  • Recognized as a positive leader with a genuine passion for food, service, and people.
  • Track record of building, leading, and managing large, diverse management teams.
  • Extensive operations leadership background in multi-unit restaurant management, with a preference for fast-casual.
  • Proven expertise in problem-solving and executing operational and financial solutions across multiple locations.
  • In-depth knowledge of various business functions, including Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, Information Technology, and Development.
  • Advanced understanding of data analysis and performance metrics.
  • Experienced in implementing scalable data analytics strategies for enhanced business insights and operational effectiveness.
  • Effective at managing multiple projects and priorities, showcasing above-average organizational and time management skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues.
  • Adaptive, curious, and solution-oriented, complemented by excellent communication skills.
  • Experience utilizing data analytics strategies to provide key business insights to improve operational efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • A team player with a humble and kind demeanor, coupled with a competitive mindset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
