As Vice President of Operations with Southern States Toyotalift : You will contribute to making Southern States Material Handling a leader in the material handling industry by improving the overall profitability and success of SSMH by leading business operations and working closely with other company leaders to set goals, analyze business needs, and understand the company’s success. Oversees the operational functions of SSMH including providing strategic, organizational, and administrative leadership. Translates the executive teams’ vision into plans, metrics, and action steps to be performed by associates to achieve goals.

What you Need/Basic Qualifications:

Education and Experience Needed:

· A minimum of 5 years' demonstrable senior level leadership experience in a pertinent operations managerial position. Material Handling Industry experience preferred.

· At least 10 years of experience working in operations and in a people management role.

· Experience working for a multi-state, 400+ employee organization.

· Bachelor’s Degree or higher academic certification in operations management, business administration or in a relevant business-oriented stream.

· Master’s degree in operations management or MBA a plus.

What you’ll Do:

· Responsible for planning, overseeing, and implementing operations strategy after determining business needs and analyzing operational data.

· Use knowledge and experience to select and analyze relevant data regarding the company's operations and develop strategies to improve efficiency with the purpose of maximizing operational profit.

· Works with the President and CEO to set and drive the organizational vision and mission, corporate strategy, and hiring needs of the operations department.

· Develops actionable business strategies, objectives, and plans that ensure alignment with short- and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the President and CEO

· Ensures high customer value, positive brand experience, and a growing aftermarket position in the marketplace.

· Constantly review organization's plans, policies, and procedures for Operations Department to find new ways of improving efficacy and help associates execute short- and long-term goals.

· Measures and analyzes current revenue streams, offerings, and relationships to optimize business growth and revenue strategy.

· Use metrics and data from the operational team to develop short- and long-term strategies for improved workflow, higher profits, and improved company stability.

· Responsible for overseeing company operations, project timelines, business developments, and operations associates productivity while building a highly inclusive culture to ensure team members thrive.

· Strategically manages, organizes, and coordinates associates from different departments and locations to ensure efficiency.

· Analyze operational data and evaluate operations revenue to inform company leadership of business needs and changes that can be made to optimize processes and budgets.

· Work together with company's financial team to manage operational expenses and make sure each department has the budget required to achieve optimal performance.

· Leads operations managers in creating budgets and developing business plans to support company goals and objectives.

· Implement and ensure adherence to financial procedures and organizational policies and programs to drive the company’s operating capabilities to surpass the industry average.

· Constantly assess company procedures and products to make sure they comply with local, state, and federal standards and regulations.

· Responsible for establishing quarterly or annual Operations Department objectives to support company goals.

· Be instrumental in shaping company values.

· Constantly communicate and coordinate with fellow executives and department heads, such as finance, IT, solutions, and HR, to make sure decisions and actions are consistent throughout the organization.

· Proactively assess structures and operations procedures to suggest aspects that can be improved and develop solutions for that improvement, ensuring objectives are met.

· Assesses and implements improved processes and new technologies to support company goals and objectives.

· Make recommendations and ensure the company’s allocation of resources align with business needs and goals.

· Responsible for helping to update and develop Operations corporate policy.

· Host regular meetings with operational and executive staff to discuss plans and address concerns.

· Implement changes to policy or procedure to improve the efficacy of the company's operational team.

· Responsible for making sure that all associates who directly contribute to the company's productivity have everything they need to accomplish their short- and long-term goals.

· Analyze how associates best perform their work tasks to optimize efficiency and effectiveness and develop ways to help coordinate actions and goals.

· Ensure all operational employees are working together to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

· Communicate operational project progress and any issues that arise with company leadership.

· Constantly promote cordial relationships between staff members and help mediate any dispute before it can affect productivity and morale.

· Mediate disputes to promote amicable and cooperative relationships among staff.

· Ensure and oversee that associate performance data is analyzed to determine if each associate is working effectively and efficiently to help the organization meet its goals.

· Collaborate with the human resources team to ensure new hires are prepared to advance the operational potential of the company and have the potential to meet SSMH professional standards.

· Assist in interviewing and hiring Department Heads to ensure their alignment with strategic plans.

· Work closely with departmental leaders and human resources representatives to identify excellent employees worthy of additional responsibilities or promotion.

· Communicates with the leadership team and Board of Directors factors that influence operational business performance.

· Review work sites and other work locations to make sure that they operate at optimal efficiency and adhere to safety standards and regulations. Ensure work areas are inspected to ensure that these are safe, fully functional, and high yielding.

· Builds and fosters relationships with other professionals and organizations in the material handling industry.

· Represent SSMH at local and international gatherings.

· Mon-Fri 8am – 5pm

· Travel up to 25%
