What the job is:
CPI is looking for someone who is positive, outgoing, upbeat and a natural leader. The ideal candidate will be quick to connect with others and able to establish and maintain working relationships while building a positive rapport with customers, vendors and team members alike. The Vice President of Health and Safety will be responsible for overseeing and managing the overall Health and Safety policies, regulations and procedures while ensuring compliance with these policies, regulations and procedures at all times. This person will lead a cooperative and harmonious working climate to maximize safety for all, promote employee and peer morale and implement and support all aspects of the Health and Safety culture at CPI. The VP of Health and Safety will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with all CPI, Local, State and Federal Environmental and Safety Regulations and Guidelines. In addition, this person will design and conduct safety trainings for all levels of employees from new hire up to the CEO. They will supervise the Safety Team and have an active role in the New Hire Orientation Process. The VP of Health and Safety will also assist in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through collaboration and teamwork with all CPI personnel. Managing CPI’s Emergency Response Guidelines will also be an important role by this individual. The VP of Health and Safety will be an active member of the CPI Senior Leadership Team providing input and support of all CPI departments and policies.
Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations is essential.
The ability and willingness to visit all locations on a quarterly basis at a minimum is required.
Strong problem-solving and creative skills along with the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis is a must.
A high level of integrity ethics, morals and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and a results-oriented demeanor is a must.
Excellent business acumen abilities along with time management skills, effective planning, organization and decision-making abilities is a must.
Proficient business computer skills are required.
Prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer is essential in this role.
The ability to work in all types of weather conditions, around moving parts and exposure to fumes, chemicals and airborne particles.
The ability to work in high, precarious places is required.
The ability to lift up to 15 pounds at a time is required.
This position is Onsite at the CPI Hastings Corporate Headquarters.
