Job Description
This group brand executive leadership position will be responsible for spearheading the engineering department, playing a central role in driving innovation, product development, and process enhancement in the creation of our premium residential kitchen appliances.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide visionary leadership and direction to the engineering department, overseeing a dedicated team of engineers and technical professionals. Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration to meet our strategic objectives.
- Lead the design, development, and enhancement of our portfolio of premium residential appliances. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Research & Development, Manufacturing and Quality Control to bring cutting-edge products to market.
- Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies. Drive research initiatives to maintain our position as an industry innovator, continually improving our product lines.
- Lead engineering in using robust design methodologies and tools (ie DMIAC, 8D, OpEx) to continuously optimize designs to improve design reliability and quality. Improve design for manufacturing and service, and reduce costs as needed to deliver on quality, service and cost targets.
- Manage the engineering department's budget efficiently, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to support research and development projects.
- Attract, retain, and nurture top engineering talent. Foster an environment where professionals can grow, learn, and innovate.
- Ensure that all engineering projects adhere to the highest industry standards and regulations, collaborating with our quality and compliance teams as needed.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to secure the necessary components and technologies, negotiating favorable terms to support our product development initiatives.
- Identify potential risks in engineering projects and develop proactive mitigation plans to minimize disruptions to production.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners, fostering strong business relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven track record (10+ years) of Engineering leadership roles in manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of premium kitchen appliance manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated success in new product development and innovation.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management and budget management.
- Ability to lead a diverse team and cultivate a culture of innovation.
- Ability to exercise sound, ethical judgement in providing engineering leadership to strategically ensure strong performance.
- Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.
