POSITION OVERVIEW
The VP of Human Resources leads MTI Motion Human Resources team by developing and implementing Human Resource strategies and programs for the 500+ employees across three facilities in the United States and Mexico.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • SLT Membership - Partner with the President to effectively engage MTI Motion Leadership Team to help them unify and accomplish their collective objectives and achieve business financial and strategic goals. Work to assure right senior leadership is in place and fully developed.
  • Talent Acquisition and Retention - Develop, implement, and execute a recruitment and retention plan with consistent process and tools across the organization. Develop strategies to deal with turnover within the operations. Focus on hiring needs to support continued business transformation and ability to build the needed talent pipeline.
  • Culture and Employee Engagement - Ensure the Company has the right culture across all facilities.
  • Compensation and Benefits - Plan, design and develop effective performance review processes and competitive and cost-effective employee reward systems including incentives, compensation, and benefits. Continually assess the competitiveness of all total rewards programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries, and markets.
  • Talent and Organizational Development - Oversee establishment of an organizational talent management strategy inclusive of a performance management, employee and manager development and a succession planning process to help maximize the potential of current employees and develop future pipeline of talent.
  • Employee Relations - Deliver effective employee relations strategies to support the culture/values and ensure business success. Establish relationships with employees. Provide coaching and act as adviser to employees, management, and senior leaders.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - Actively promote the organization's efforts to encourage diversity and foster a participatory environment. Assure a sense of equity across the organization through all HR practices, policies, programs, and guidelines.
  • HR Operations - Ensure the right HR systems, procedures and operational tools exist to support the organization both now and in the future. Owns direct HR-related areas such as compliance and community relations. Install best practices, ensure sound training for all tools.
  • HR Team Leadership - Oversee the Human Resources Team for all three locations.

Requirements
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS PREFERRED Experience
  • 10+ years of progressive, strategic leadership of Human Resources required in manufacturing or distribution with a strong preference for aerospace and defense industry.
  • 3+ years minimum of proven success leading and driving HR for an engineering or manufacturing organization.
  • Experience in multiple Human Resources functional areas: Talent Acquisition and Retention, Employee Relations, Safety/Worker's Compensation, Talent Management/OD, Compensation, Benefits Negotiations and HR Operations.
  • Experience in assessing HR functional effectiveness and developing plans to address shortcomings, leverage strengths, and create a strong foundational HR organization.
  • Expert in the basics of HR; possess knowledge of applicable HR processes and practices, including laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred; Certifications such as PHR or SPHR a plus.
  • Able to travel 15-20%.
