Position Summary:
The Vice President of Construction Operations is first and foremost a Values-Based Leader who balances the human and business side of the equation to an end of exceptional employee well-being, economic property, and social good. Manatt’s Vice President of Construction Operations is a high-level leadership and accountability position who has direct access to and reports directly to the President.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Journey:Consistently applies discipline and rigor to personal Values-Based Leadership (VBL) journey to actualize own potential and become best version of self in both work and life. Takes a formal approach to self-development that sets the standard for the organization. Leverages learning, growth, and development to exhibit VBL to the highest standards moment to moment and over time.
- Safety: Leads and supports a commitment based (vs. compliance based) safety culture that develops the mindsets and skillset necessary to ensure all Manatt’s employees go home in the same condition they came to work. Collaborates and coordinates with the safety team and division leaders to set expectations and accountabilities, deliver process and practices in alignment with all state and local regulations, and provides consistent messaging across the division and enterprise at-large.
- Values-Based Leadership: Serves as a VBL Champion by living, working, and leading in alignment with the organizations purpose, values, vision, and strategy to inspire others to do the same. Fully engages the division in all VBL activities with specific attention to workshops, assessments, coaching, and one-on-ones to ensure continuous improvement in all applicable measures of success to include but not limited to engagement surveys, succession readiness indices, and leading and lagging business key performance indicators.
- Talent Management: Recruits, hires, on-boards, trains, develops, and retains “the best” talent in alignment with the purpose, values, and high-performing standards of the organization. Focused attention to be applied to division leaders and their top lieutenants to ensure the highest level of leadership and personal performance starts at the top without exception.
- Strategy and Business Performance: Applies senior level strategic thinking (near and long-term) and business planning to the division as a whole and market specific when necessary. Executes all business plans, budgets, scorecards, and performance reviews to an end that meets or exceeds all stated financial and non-financial goals and objectives.
- Collective Ambition: Effectively communicates and collaborates across all Manatt’s Family of Businesses divisions and business empowerment functions to ensure the best thinking is sought after and applied to all opportunities.
Experience, Education and Skill Requirements:

Business Administration or related field

Minimum 10 years in Construction Industry preferred
