Job Summary
The Vice President, Commercial Sales and Distribution, is responsible for long-term strategic development of both a statewide and nationwide sales strategy to increase overall membership and market presence for Priority Health. This position creates and executes on a division- and enterprise-wide sales strategy for all commercial lines of business, including small group, mid/large group fully funded, key account and ASO. This includes driving the overall performance of all commercial lines of business from both a revenue and margin perspective, while ensuring a continued focus on talent management and overall team performance.
Essential Functions
- The responsibilities for the position shall be achieved through the development and/or support and execution of both a regional and national business plan that encompasses applicable growth strategies for each applicable market segment (all commercial group: small mid/large, key and ASO).
- Lead the overall development of new and emerging sales strategies and capabilities, including third party administrator partnerships and product-specific upsell opportunities for non-Priority Health accounts.
- Drive the creation and ongoing support of a Priority Health value proposition that is unique and distinct in the market, including an internal sales team certification program to ensure consistent messaging to agents, brokers, consultants and employers.
- Be the face of Priority Health in the community. This would include Community health foundations and coalitions (e.g., GDAHC), Area Boards meaningful to Priority Health, as well as Chambers and other community or business venues like the DEC. etc.
- Collaborate with Corporate Vice President of Group Sales, Medicare, Individual and Marketing to ensure alignment of sales strategies, market and product positioning, distribution channels and to develop joint strategies to increase market share.
- Collaborate with other corporate business partners including Product Management, Care Management Finance, Information Technology, and Network Strategy to develop joint strategies to drive profitable growth for the region and Priority Health as a whole.
- Develop and lead a data-driven Sales organization, including the creation of a new sales analytic competency to ensure strategy and decision-making is a quantifiable, objective and informed manner.
- Ensure consistent, timely and ongoing focus on an organization-wide sales strategy. Collaborate with VP of Underwriting and Director of Sales Strategy and Analytics to aggregate market trends, sales data, agent/broker close rates, and other relevant information to inform long-term sales strategy.
