We are seeking a Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Position Summary:
The Vice President of Sales & Marketing will lead the design, construction, and implementation of the Business Unit's sales strategy. Position responsibilities encompass developing, managing, and enhancing the Sales and Marketing efforts, including coordination of customer account management and strategic aspects of account development, business opportunity identification, due diligence, pricing, and contract negotiations.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven ability to drive profitable sales growth in the automotive markets. He/she should exhibit charisma, a strong business presence, network-building skills, intercultural sensitivity, negotiation skills, process knowledge, and visionary leadership style. By leveraging experience and leading by example, this individual will elevate overall brand awareness and market share by driving incremental sales with existing and new customer accounts, achieving profitability targets, implementing a world-class sales & marketing methodology, and cultivating a solution-selling process orientation grounded in superior customer relationship management.
In addition to overseeing Sales and Marketing functions, this role entails monitoring and analyzing sales activity against goals, managing account management and sales initiatives, and establishing a comprehensive sales structure across major geographic and market segments. The VP will provide leadership across business segments, offering support and guidance to navigate complex sales cycles effectively.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and coordination of company sales functions across business segments, aligning strategies with cross-functional teams.
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive sales structure to meet or exceed corporate revenue expectations in all major geographic and market segments.
- Monitor and analyze sales activity against goals, directing the execution of Sales plans and initiatives.
- Provide tools, training, support, and guidance to manage complex sales cycles, collaborating with internal departments to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Engage with Product Engineering, Program Management, and Manufacturing regarding product offerings and strategies, participating in Group planning activities associated with customer-specific requirements.
- • Identify new markets and customers, negotiating value-based pricing, and implementing strategies to sell products.
- Develop and implement Sales and communication processes in collaboration with other company stakeholders, contributing to the identification and definition of services and products, product positioning, pricing, and promotion strategies.
- Define and achieve or exceed sales objectives, manage the overall sales budget, and recommend sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses.
- Build, develop, and manage the sales team, define competencies and skills, address talent gaps, and directly manage major existing client accounts and key prospects, coordinating the management of all other accounts.
- Directly participate in the implementation and execution of Sales policies and practices, while adhering to company governance practices in all areas, including ethics, quality, safety, and more.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 15 years of automotive or related experience, with at least 10 years in sales or customer-facing roles showing progressive accountability.
- Preferably 10+ years of successful sales experience in the automotive industry, with interior products experience considered advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
- 8+ years of management experience demonstrating strong leadership in the automotive sector.
- Proven ability to identify, initiate, negotiate, and close deals with corporate customers.
- Successful track record in recruiting, directing, and managing high-performing sales teams to exceed performance goals.
- Ability to formulate and implement strategies and tactics in a competitive environment.
- Experience in developing and deploying effective Sales and service systems and processes.
- Ability to manage multi-million-dollar programs and possess intimate knowledge of assigned customer markets.
- Knowledgeable about the market, identifying business development opportunities and competitive threats.
- Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate relationships, motivate, and influence others.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills are essential.
- Proficiency in project management, quantitative, and analytical skills is a must.
- Previous experience in Program Management is beneficial.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
