Direct and control sales, customer service, operating expenses, bottom-line profit, store standards and conditions, service levels, company policy and procedures, store associate relations, and store staffing.
Formulate initiatives to ensure objectives are met and communicate the company's philosophy and direction to regional management teams. Work cross functionally with merchandising, Marketing and Logistics to achieve corporate objectives.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities -
- P&L responsibility for stores
- Achievement of store sales through proper staffing, training, personnel recognition, budgeting, and store standards for stock position, sanitation, and service levels
- Develop and monitor the regions' sales, profit and labor budgets, including the identification of areas of opportunity
- Development, team building, and training of regional operations and store staffs to assure that talent and bench strength is established for continued company growth
- Adherence to and compliance with all county, state, and federal laws and company policies
Minimum Requirements
- Strong grocery, drug store chain or variety store operations background including budgeting, administration, systems, personnel policy and practice is preferred
- Prior logistics and real estate management experience
- Knowledge and skill at "Best Practices" in store operations, payroll management, freight flow and processes, merchandising and display acumen
- Excellent understanding of financial statements, financial performance and the dynamics of the P&L
- Broad retail knowledge of merchandise, stores and markets
- A record of success in the operations field that clearly indicates technical competence and the ability to add value as a member of the senior management team
- A proven track record as a manager that includes the ability to build large field organizations through selection, training and development of people / A people person sensitive to the dynamics of the "Culture-People First" not people only
